Taylor Swift Adds a Youthful Touch to Town & Country Dressing

As Taylor Swift rides the wave of success from her recently released album 1989, she seems to be hitting her stride when it comes to fashion, too. Spotted on the street earlier today in New York, the pop star eschewed her pork pie hats and matchy-matchy pop color ensembles in favor of a more muted and country-appropriate palette. Her Tattersall top-layer with natty velvet collar was a nice counterpoint to her LBD—an urban staple—swiss-dot tights, and heeled booties. An Aldo top-handle tote in cranberry picked up the hues in the checks on her coat, while a red lip acted as a burst of subtle color. As the first polar vortex sweeps across the country, we suggest investing in a similarly chic coat to brave the cooler temps. Slip on a chunky knit and riding boots for a nod to Jackie O—and stay even warmer than Ms. Swift.
